Farm manager (m / f) for organic farms (breeding of noble breeds / cattle)

We are looking for a working manager (m/f) for a modern organic farm in the district of Stormarn just outside of Hamburg at the earliest possible date!

Only noble breeds are bred on the farm (suckler cow husbandry). The end customer is the upscale gastronomy in and around Hamburg as well as the delicatessen trade. By appointment, the small farm shop also sells meat and eggs to private customers.

Other branches of business are organic farming (mainly for our own feed supply) and chicken farming (only to a small extent).

The company is almost self-mechanized - the pressing/wrapping of haylage/silage bales and straw bales is outsourced to the contractor.Your tasks:You act as a link between the owner family, the permanent employees/temporary workers and regulate/do the day-to-day operations.

Your tasks in detail:

• Animal control and monitoring of animal health / animal welfare (calves, young animals, cows, bulls)
• Treatment of sick animals - support from the treating veterinarian as required
• Fertility Management/Breast Control
• Classification of employees (daily work coordination/employee management)
• Assistance with calving, animal identification
• Animal selection (breeding/sale/slaughter)
• Drinking and electric fence control
• Pasture management/animal regrazing
• Organisation/assistance with grassland care (rolling, weeding, mulching, fertilizing)
• Organisation/assistance with forage production (mowing, sweeping, swathing, transport work)
• Execution/organization of hoof care
• Organisation/control of supplementary feeding/winter feeding
• Organization of agricultural measures - here oat and field grass cultivation
• Purchase of resources and sale of cattle in consultation with the owners, planning of the slaughter dates
• Sale of beef/eggs through the farm shop by appointment
• Coordination/takeover of activities in the field of chicken husbandry (only approx. 20 chickens)
• Assumption of operational documentation obligations (basic application, diesel reimbursement, HIT database, inventory register, data management, etc.)
• Coordination/implementation of maintenance work in the field of agricultural engineering, property maintenance work and general maintenance of the company buildings
• Participation in replacement/new or expansion investments, operational planning, etc.

Your profile:

• Animal farmer (m/f) specializing in cattle or through further training to become
• Business economist, master craftsman, agricultural business economist, agricultural engineer, bachelor's or master's degree (m/f).

In addition to your strong "cow mind" you have a "hands-on mentality". Your profile is rounded off by a business mindset, reliability and a collegial leadership style.
