Job Description

Full-time employment for a fixed term of 12 months (6-month probationary period) with the possibility of extension.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Program and thematic work, participation in projects

  • He organizes and implements various educational activities for the target groups of his department (workshops, lectures and trainings).
  • Organizes and participates in the implementation of public events such as exhibitions, quizzes, exchanges, festivals, presentations of the organization, collects relevant documentation and prepares reports on the implementation, and participates in evaluation.
  • Organizes, prepares and conducts meetings and other activities with stakeholders.
  • Participates in the organization and implementation of professional research tasks, organization and processing of data.
  • Prepares, collects and distributes appropriate documentation, including meeting minutes and reports on implemented activities and studies, in Croatian and, depending on project requirements, in English.
  • Participates in the development and production of parts of complex publications and educational materials (collections of papers, manuals, etc.)
  • Participates in the development of evaluation tools and processing of findings, regularly and as needed.
  • Assists in the preparation of financial and narrative reports of departmental projects.
  • Monitors legislation, professional literature and research relevant to the department, project and other department activities.

Participation in the work and development of the department and organizational development

  • Assists the department head/senior professional associate in implementing department activities.
  • Participates in the evaluation of Department projects.
  • Participates in the work of horizontal teams within the organization and carries out professional and logistical tasks for the needs of the teams.
  • Creates, collects and distributes appropriate documentation, including minutes of meetings and reports of activities carried out.
  • Participates in organizational strategic planning workshops, department development workshops/meetings related to the development of operational plans and program operational plans as needed.

Fundraising

  • Participates in the development of proposals for larger projects and fundraising in coordination with a senior professional associate and/or department head.
  • Prepares project proposals of lower value with supervision.
  • Preparing bids for low-value services.
  • Assists in the preparation of project proposals and project documentation for the purposes of securing co-financing for department projects.

Team management

  • Mentor assistants.
  • Mentor volunteers on projects he leads and students involved in the department's community service/professional internship program.
  • Participates in and, as necessary, conducts internal training on specific skills required for the work of the Department.
  • If necessary, he participates in the evaluation of the work of team members on the projects he leads.
  • It ensures the optimal use of resources (human, financial, material and informational) necessary for the implementation of projects.
  • Coordinates the project team/teams, holds regular meetings of teams/associates and volunteers, and allocates tasks.
  • If necessary, participates in the evaluation of team members' work on projects.
  • Provides regular feedback on the status of projects and the performance of the project team and/or project team members to the head of the department.

Networking, communication and advocacy

  • Participates in the creation of communication and information materials
  • Maintains contacts with stakeholders and partners of the department and, in coordination with the head of the department, participates in establishing new partnerships at home and abroad.
  • He participates in the work of relevant networks and the monitoring of legislative strategic and planning documents related to the work of the department.
  • As needed, prepares reports and media releases on program activities and projects, the Association's website and other related websites in coordination with the program/department/project manager and the communications manager.

CONDITIONS

  • University degree in natural sciences or social sciences.
  • Minimum two years of work experience and minimum one year of work experience in environmental protection related work.
  • Knowledge and broader understanding of environmental protection as well as the political and social context.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Good organizational skills - reliability, accuracy and systematicity
  • Ability to independently perform more complex tasks.
  • Having a category B driver's license and driving independently.
  • Willingness to travel within the framework of projects/activities both in Croatia and abroad.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.

ADVANTAGES

  • Knowledge of environmental and nature protection issues and high motivation for engagement in environmental protection.
  • Ability and inclination to work in a team.

CANDIDATE SELECTION PROCEDURE:

The committee will read all applications received and, based on their quality assessment, will select a maximum of 8 candidates to be shortlisted for interviews and, if necessary, testing. Based on the interviews and testing results, the committee will select the best candidate. Candidates will be notified of the results of the competition and any interview by e-mail.
